9:37 pm: The action has been quicker than expected, as 20 players now remain, and we inch closer and closer to the magic number of 14.
9:29 pm: Players are on break, and will be back in 2 minutes. When they resume the blinds will be 5k/10k/1k, and the chip average will be 137k (~14 BB). The play should be slow as can be as we hover around the bubble, so you may want to watch Braveheart and then come back to check the results.
8:52 pm: Level 17 has just begun, with the blinds going up to 4k/8k/500, and 23 players now remain. The chip average in the room is 131k, but their are a handful a stacks that are way below that point. The largest stack in the field is about 300k, and he’s contemplating going to take a nap at this point.
8:18 pm: Tournament directors are currently re-drawing the remaining 27 players, and only 12 more bustouts until we have reached this tournaments goal.
7:30 pm: With 30 players remaining the chip average is 100k. The smallest stack in the field is 27k, with the largest just over 150k. When players resume, the blinds will be 2500/5000/500.
6:31 pm: The dinner break will commence in 10 minutes, some notables still alive in the field:
5:41 pm: There are currently 45 players remaining, all try to survive and make it to the final 15. Players are going on dinner break in an hour from now, and afterwards we will be thinning the field quickly. The blinds are currently 1k/2k/300 and a chip average of 67k.
3:54 pm: The numbers have been tallied, and here are your payouts:
POPC Event 3: $200 + 30 Survivor
2:15 pm: Registration for the event is now over, and although we don’t have the official numbers from the cage, we do know that there are 151 entrants, so it seems as if 14 or 15 players will be the mark to make. Once the numbers are official, we will bring you that information.
1:43 pm: Players have one full level left to enter (approx. 45 min), and the blinds are currently 200/400/25 (chip average of 24k).
12:55 pm: Players are in Level 4, with blinds at 100/200/25 and a chip average of 21k (20k starting stack).
12:17 pm: ”We will get by, we will survive.” On the week of Jerry Garcia’s birthday and also his untimely death, it’s fitting we throw out a Grateful Dead quote in the mix. It’s all about surviving in this event, and the goal doesn’t have to be to win the event, but just make it to a certain point. We will scan the room and bring you some of our notables in the field.
